a little bit on my journey to here...
a bit about my journey to here...
I started this business in 2008 after walking away from a career in HR, knowing I wanted more freedom, more creativity, and a life built on my own terms. Photography began as a way to do just that, but it quickly became something deeper. I started with lifestyle family photography, drawn to the quiet or chaotic, in-between moments, the emotion, and the real connections that make a story worth remembering. That love for people and their relationships became the foundation of everything I do.
Over the years, my work expanded into weddings, headshots, and eventually brand photography, but my approach never changed. I’ve always been a connector first, photographer second. I believe the best images come from comfort, trust, and showing up as yourself, and I take pride in creating a space where clients actually enjoy being photographed. Family photography will always be a huge part of my heart and my work, it’s where this business was born, and it continues to shape the way I see people, emotion, and story.
In recent years, I’ve focused deeply on human-first branding for businesses that value connection as much as strategy. I completed a Brand Management Certificate through eCornell University to ensure the visuals I create aren’t just beautiful, but intentional and effective. The Human Brand blends strategy with emotion, creating imagery that feels real, supports your marketing, and gives you the confidence to show up fully as the face of your brand, season after season.
And on a personal note
I’m all about my fam! I’ve been married to my bestest friend and favourite human for 24 years. We have three pretty cool kids who I guess we can’t really call kids anymore and one very emotionally needy mini Goldendoodle named Lewie. My favourite thing to do is pretty much anything that involves hanging out with these above mentioned people. Some other loves are travelling as much as we can, reading, hiking, walking and trying to be my healthiest self while on the other hand I equally love red wine, nachos and chocolate. I love working quietly, by myself in my home office just as much as I love being up front and centre directing a huge wedding party or extended family. I love quiet and I love chaos.
I guess I’m here trying to get all the best that life has to offer. In life and in business.
I'd love to hear all about you, what you're up to in life and how I can document that for you.
